The 'Why' Behind My Design Journey

Design is the power to inspire, connect, and transform lives. My design journey started with a simple purpose: to create meaningful experiences that connect with people. Crafting designs that evoke emotions and positively impact the world is what gets me up in the morning. It’s the satisfaction of knowing that my work has the potential to shape perceptions, drive engagements, and enhance everyday moments. Design is my North Star. It reminds me of the profound importance of shaping the human experience through the highs and lows of the creative process.

Pixels and Stitches: My Story

I'm a natural art enthusiast and creator, drawn to design from a young age. After earning my degree in Fashion Design in 2013, I spent 5 fulfilling years in the runway industry before deciding to pivot into the world of digital design. Graphic Design has always fascinated me, and I've enjoyed experimenting with Photoshop and Illustrator for as long as I can remember. During the pandemic, I immersed myself in UX/UI Design, finding a new outlet for my creativity.

In Spring 2023, I embarked on a journey to the USA to pursue a second degree in Interaction Design, eager to expand my skill set and explore new horizons.

My true passion lies in using design to connect people and make a positive impact. Fashion remains an essential part of my identity, which is why I launched Lua Nova, a small business specializing in scrunchies and other accessories. Lua Nova is where my love for design meets my affinity for fashion, allowing me to express my creativity while making meaningful connections with people through design.

Behind the Scenes

  • I’m from São Paulo, Brazil. Proudly carrying the spirit of my city wherever I go, inspiring others to embrace their roots and reach for the stars.

  • Ballet, photography, and sewing are some of my passions and hobbies.

  • I had a small business in Brazil with my mom that started sewing reusable masks for the pandemic and we ended up selling over 10,000 masks by 2021 among a diverse catalog of products.

  • In October 2023, I started a small business called Lua Nova (New Moon in Portuguese), where I make scrunchies, key fobs, and hair clips and sell them at the local Farmers Market. It’s been a great experience!

  • I am passionate about mountains! Where every peak tells a story, and every trail leads to inspiration. Nature's grandeur reminds us to climb our own peaks and conquer our challenges with the same wonder and determination.
